Private Lessons

Depending on my work schedule, I am flexible about scheduling private lessons. I will teach at your home. If you need a larger space, studio rentals are available for an additional cost. Private lessons are $60 an hour. If you purchase several lessons in advance, (or if you want to have semi-private lessons with friends) discounts are available.

Instructional Style

I teach Classical Egyptian style. This means that I'm heavily influenced by the greatest 20th century Egyptian dancers like Samia Gamal and Naima Akef. In Egypt, before Americans popularized bellydancing, the dance was taught by example. The teacher danced, and the students copied. This doesn't work for everyone. People learn in different ways, so some people do better when they see it, other people when they listen, and still others when they feel it. I try to teach the moves in a way that incorporates all these styles, so that you have the best chance of being able to learn it.
